Scope of This Document

The privacy policy in this document is specific to our corporate website. Our corporate website is distinct and separate from the Koneksa platform (“Compare”), which is used by our clients who are pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device companies and academic institutions, as well as by individuals enrolled in a clinical trial or a non-interventional research study (“Study”).

Applicability of Other Privacy Policies

Data Subjects

If you or the party for whom you are responsible (“Data Subject”) are enrolled in a Study and have been notified through your Informed Consent Form (“ICF”) that the Study is using the Koneksa Platform, review the Koneksa Data Subject Privacy Policy.

Study Site Coordinators

If you are a study site coordinator or other study site personnel using the Koneksa Platform as part of a Study with which you are involved, refer to your contract with the Study sponsor for further details.

If you are visiting our corporate website (this website) to learn more about Koneksa, this document applies to you.

Koneksa complies with all applicable national and international clinical and data privacy and security regulatory requirements. In particular, this includes a commitment to comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (beginning May 25, 2018), as well as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and the Swiss-US Data Privacy Framework principles (collectively referred to as “Data Privacy Framework”).

With regard to the Data Privacy Framework, Koneksa complies with the principles as set forth by the US Department of Commerce regarding the collection, use, and retention of personal information transferred from the European Union (EU), the United Kingdom (UK), and/or Switzerland to the United States in reliance on the Data Privacy Framework Koneksa has certified to the Department of Commerce that it adheres to the Data Privacy Framework Principles with respect to such information.

For purposes of enforcing compliance with the Data Privacy Framework, Koneksa is subject to the investigatory and enforcement authority of the US Federal Trade Commission. If there is any conflict between the terms in this privacy policy and the Data Privacy Framework Principles, the Data Privacy Framework Principles shall govern. Information We Collect

Our website is hosted by a third-party platform and maintained by Koneksa personnel. We use third party cookies to collect traffic data about visitor patterns. When you visit our website, we collect the following data:

1) type of device (e.g., phone)
2) type of browser (e.g., Firefox®)
3) source (e.g., internet search, paid web advertisement)
4) high level geography (e.g., USA)

The legal basis for collecting this data is that we use this information to ensure that our corporate website is available and functions correctly for the most common devices and browsers our visitors use to visit the website. Additionally, we use information about how you arrived at the Koneksa website (e.g., you searched yourself, you clicked an advert online) to inform our marketing strategy and advertising investment.

If you choose to provide us with your email address by completing the “Contact Us” form, you acknowledge and accept that you are providing this email address to us for the purpose of enabling us to contact you and that we may freely choose to do so. Koneksa does not disclose any data we may collect on you to any other organizations, other than in fulfilling the requirement that our organization may need to disclose personal information in response to lawful requests by public authorities, including to meet national security or law enforcement requirements, noting that Koneksa is liable in cases of onward transfers to third parties.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. All other categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

How to Ask a Question or Raise a Concern

If you have an unresolved privacy or data use concern that we have not addressed satisfactorily, contact our US-based third-party dispute resolution provider (free of charge) at https://feedback-form.truste.com/watchdog/request.

You may have the option to select binding arbitration for the resolution of your complaint under certain circumstances, provided you have taken the following steps: (1) raised your compliant directly with Koneksa and provided us the opportunity to resolve the issue; (2) made use of the independent dispute resolution mechanism identified above; and (3) raised the issue through the relevant data protection authority and allowed the US Department of Commerce an opportunity to resolve the complaint at no cost to you.
